Leif Enger was born on Feburary 14, 1961 in the town of Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He attended Osakis Hich School where his parents Don and Wilma worked as a bandleader and teacher. Leif furthered his studies at Moorhead State University where he met his wife Robin Reed. In 1984 we started working as a producer and reporter for the Minnesota Public Radio. With a leave from work in 1990 Lin his older brother and Leif wrote a series of mystery novels featuring a retired baseball player. Five years later Leif started work on, "Peace Like a River." After the novels success he quit his job at the radio station and now lives on a 56 acre tract of forest and farmland close to Aitkin, Minnesota with his wife and two sons who are 10 and 14.
